Welcome to Digital Storytelling!
Thank you for joining me for this course. I have been interested in storytelling and with computers for almost thirty years, and I am really looking forward to exploring this topic with all of you.
This web page will serve as a place for daily reflection on what we are covering and what you are doing. It will also be where I post online resources for you to explore and find additional help for your projects, with more to come as the week goes by.

Digital storytelling has opened my eyes to the possiblities for myself, students, and staff. It is an amazing tool where students not only learn about the content they are showcasing but how to make a movie, as well as the power of voice and editing choices. This is extremely powerful and I can see applications in all content areas. As a media specialist, I plan on sharing this tool with my principal and hope to have a staff development opportunity for my colleagues where they can learn about the benefits of digital storytelling. Just as we have had an opportunity in this class, I want them to learn about the program and give them time to create a product for their classrooms.
I found the article on "Classroom tips for keeping exciting digital storytelling projects on track" to be very helpful and is something I would pass onto staff members to help them with the managing piece of this type of project.
I'm very excited to share this with my staff.
